  • Mabo was born on Murray Island in between Papua New Guinea.
  • They were fighting for Murray island which are located in the torres strait.

  • Mabo was named Eddie Koiki Sambo but he changed his name to Mabo because his mother’s brother adopted him.

  • The Court case happened in Queensland in June 3rd 1992.

  • They said that the land was free to take and didn’t belong to any one.
  • This is terra nullius.
