  2. Force and Motion Welcome! Today we will: • Create our unit page for force and motion. • Learn new vocabulary for our force and motion unit.

  3. Force and Motion – Unit Page • Skip page 6 in your science notebook. • Turn to page 7. • On page 7 you will decorate a unit page for our first unit, Forces and Motion.

  4. Forces and Motion – Unit Page You should: • write “Forces and Motion” • draw a picture of force or motion, and • color and be neat

  5. Vocabulary Today we will learn new vocabulary words and their definitions. You will make flashcards for these words on your own. The words we will go over today are: Push, Pull, Force, Motion, Magnet, and Electricity.

  6. Vocabulary Push – to press against or press forward

  7. Vocabulary Pull – to separate or draw apart

  8. Vocabulary Force – strength or energy put forth

  9. Vocabulary Motion – changing place or position

  10. Vocabulary Magnet – something made of iron that has the ability to attract other items made from iron

  11. Vocabulary Electricity – energy made available by the flow of electric charge; "they built a car that runs on electricity"

  12. Vocabulary Review Let’s review all of these words again by reviewing flashcards on the computer and quizzing ourselves to see what we have learned.

  13. Vocabulary This is just a few of our vocabulary words that you need to know to get started in this unit. We will learn more along the way!
