  4. Vocabulary Ecosystems – a system made up of a community of living things that interact with the environment.

  7. Vocabulary Habitat – The place where a plant or animal naturally lives or grows.

  11. Ecosystems • The location that plants and animals are found is referred to as an ecosystem. These plants and animals depend on each other to survive. When something different happens in the ecosystem it throws off the ecosystem’s balance. Sometimes its good for plants and animals in the ecosystem, while other times it is deadly for them.

  12. Ecosystems • The first thing you need to understand before diving into this unit is that ecosystems are the big living space where all the plants and animals live in that area. Small habitats are in the ecosystems. Let’s take a look at a picture to see what I mean.

  13. Ecosystems

  14. Ecosystems • You can tell by this picture that there are many different types of plants and animals living in one ecosystem. Throughout this unit we are going to learn more about ecosystems, their habitats, and the effects that changes can have on ecosystems.

  15. Next Time Great work today! During our next lesson, we will learn more about the meaning of a habitat! See you then. Have a great day!
