Unified credential experience subgroup

  •  No.

  • We agreed that 7 years of environment-related experience with 3 to 4 of those years in a position of responsible charge* is the appropriate minimum level of experience for individuals who have an “environment-related academic background.”

  • We agreed that 11 years of environment-related experience with 3 to 4 of those years in a position of responsible charge is the appropriate minimum level of experience for individuals who do not have an environment-related academic background.

  • When the whole group met, there was some concern about the length of time, particularly regarding individuals who have non-environment academic background.

  • The QEP program makes a two year distinction (rather than a four-year distinction) between those that do and don’t. So more discussion is warranted here.

  • * to be defined by future work.

Discussion Questions – Experience Related

If a person is to be designated as an Environmental Professional empowered to do specified tasks (coordinate air quality measurements, write spill prevention plans etc.) should the term “relevant environment-related work experience” be defined, and if so, how should it be defined?

Unified credential experience subgroup

  • Yes.

  • With additional consideration being given for advance degree in the environment-related disciplines only.

Discussion Questions – Experience Related
