When, How and Where? • March 1st is the priority deadline for Spring Finishers • Download a credential application from the Office of Student Services website: • http://coe.sdsu.edu/ceac/cred_process.php (be careful to select the correct application for Special Education evaluations) • Drop off or mail in your application to Office of Student Services-EBA 259 • Please do not fax your application; We need original signature on your application

Required documents to be submitted w/ the Level II application • Credential request form • Receipt of credential fee payment • Copy of your web-portal transcript • Copy of a valid CPR Certificate for Adult/Child/Infant • CL41-Exp form –verification of 2 years full time education specialist experience • Must turn in original signature & form must be verified by a credential technician or Certificated HR personnel in your school district.

  4. Required documents to be submitted • Final Program Clearance signed by both you and your program advisor. • Please note: The Special Education Department will be sending your final program plan to our office at the end the semester. Additional requirements to earn the Clear Level II • Completion of a course in Health Education • SDSU course: HHS280 or TE296 or approved health equivalent • Completion of a course in Computer Literacy • SDSU course: SPED560 or an approved waiver • SDSU Special Ed. students take this course as part of the level I program.

  6. Additional requirements to earn the Clear Level II • Completion of a course in Computer Literacy-Sped560 • If you completed the level I Education Specialist at another institution, please check with your advisor to make sure you have fulfilled this requirement.

  7. Our credential review process • We review, verify and determine your eligibility • We notify you via email the status of your application • The normal processing time depends upon volume of applications received and it could take up to 6-8 weeks for the initial review

Our credential review process • Recommendation will be processed in late June • All notifications will be done via email • Your final credential document will be issued online and will be posted directly at the Commission on Teacher Credentialing website (CCTC) • https://teachercred.ctc.ca.gov/teachers/PersonalSearchProxy • All students who apply by the March 1st priority deadline will be recommended by mid July.

Our recommendations • Please apply for the level II credential as soon as you can. • Do not wait until your preliminary document expires! • If you are an Out-of-State (OOS) trained Level I credential holder, please make sure you review your preliminary document for any additionalrequirements listed on your Level I document • For OOS candidates, it is recommended that you contact a credential analyst to schedule an appointment to review your Level I document prior to applying for your credential.
