  2. Do you know what matter is? Matter is anything that takes up space and has mass.

  3. Gas Solid Liquid Matter Comes in 3 Forms

  4. Solids are objects that are visible and have their own shape. • Solids are things you can hold. • Solids are usually hard because their molecules have been packed together. • Solids also can hold their own shape. A rock will always look like a rock unless something happens to it. Solids

  5. Liquids Liquids are visible and do not have their own shape. They take the shape of their container. • The molecules of a liquid move around a lot. They bounce off each other and spin around, and slide around from one side of the container to the other. • They're always moving close to each other. • This is why liquids don't hold their shape and why they can be poured. • Water, milk, juice, pop, and glue, are all liquids.

  6. Gases Gases are invisible and do not have their own shape. They bounce around to fill a container. • Gas is everywhere. • Gases are really spread out and the atoms and molecules are bouncing around all the time. • Gases can fill a container of any size or shape. Think about a balloon. No matter what shape you make the balloon it will be evenly filled with the gas atoms. The atoms and molecules are spread equally throughout the entire balloon.

  7. So Remember! Solids are visible and have their own shape. Gases are invisible and do not have their own shape. Liquids are visible but they do not have their own shape, they take the shape of their container.
