Major Achievements M32-M38 • DB 6.1, 6.2, 6.3 and 6.4 refinement • More than 7.000 course participations up to now, still growing • Development of 8 new courses (altogether 21 courses) • Continuous improvement of LMS (e.g. game based learning for built in assessments) • Execution of virtual classrooms supplementing existing delivery methods (web based training and classroom) • Sustainability of training delivery after the lifetime of the project secured using various distribution channels • Attracted learners in line with initial target group findings

ATHENA training approach The ATHENA training service supports three types of training: • Delivery that is bound by place and time, such as classroom training and instructor-led training. • Delivery that is independent of time and location, such as Web-based courseware that the learner can access anytime, anywhere. • Delivery that is bound by time only, such as instructor-led, synchronous virtual classroom sessions, where a tutor guides the learner through a session over the Internet.

  9. Web-based Training • Web-based training is accessible and executable via the ATHENA Learning Platform (SAP Learning Solution) and other Learning Management Systems.

  10. Peer review and revision of course contents

  11. Easy to use tools (e.g., for video production) • Articulate Presenter to create Flash based presentations (SCORM compliant) from PowerPoint. • Text-to-Voice Synthesizer tools to rapidly transform explicative text of courses into digital voice.

  15. Virtual Classroom • Click-to-MeetTM was used for training in the European MSC Programme to deliversynchronous virtual classroom sessions, where a tutor guides the learner through a session over the Internet.

Response to the last reviewers report • Recommendation D.B6.4a.1: Those partners of the project that have been involved in the production of training materials and course content should come up with a document that clarifies the access rights and associated costs for a sustainable use of the training materials and course contents after the end of the project. • Response: • The recommended document was prepared, and delivered as part of D.B6.4b – Annex B • Recommendation D.B6.4a.2: The not yet finalized materials for Web-based and Classroom-based training need to be made available to the reviewers before the final project review. • Response: . • All materials were finished

Future execution Web Based Training • Sustanibility of participation will be assured by the availability of new courses • Wave 1: EM3, ONT1, ONT3, BI1, BI2 available now • Wave 2: CI1, CI2, CI3, PDE3, EM1 and EM4 to be available end of April 2007 • Wave 3: classroom trainings considered to be converted • Potential of 18.000 participations during 2007
