  5. Liturgy and worship are central to the C of E because it believes that its doctrine (what it believes) is enshrined within its liturgy (how it worships)

  6. Preparing Worship: • Have people been able to meet with God? • Have people had a sense of being the Body of Christ? • Has the worship expressed God’s heart for the world beyond?

  7. From the Preface to COMMON WORSHIP • express faith – create identity • celebrate our rich inheritance & best of contemporary forms • acknowledge multiplicity of contexts for worship today • encourage imaginative engagement • provide challenge: • to worship God better and take ‘greatest care’ • to draw whole community into worship • provide a forum in which Christ is made known • see worship as a pilgrimage – ‘a journey into the heart of God’ • celebrate diversity – not a single volume… • accessible resources eg. internet
