  2. A text book publishing company has contacted me to create some Timelines of Louisiana History for them. So, I want to see what you can come up with.

  3. Research What are the important dates in Louisiana’s History? Let’s find out.

  4. But, wait! Before we begin our research, how do you know if a website is a good source of information?

  5. How can I choose good websites? When looking at website, ask yourself: • Who created it? • Will this site have the information I need? • Is this site up to date? • Is this a good research site for students your age?

  9. Research: Step 1 We are going to work in groups 4. One person in your group needs to create a Google Doc and then share it with the other members of your group. Make sure to give it a title.

  10. The Top 10 List Your group needs to find the 10 ten historical events that happened in Louisiana. Here are some sites to help you as you research. Each group will have a different Top 10 List. Timeline Websites

  11. Research: Step 2 Use these websites as you begin your research. Remember that not all websites are the same. Be careful as you pull information from the sites. Timeline Websites

  12. Research: Step 3 Use the group Doc that was just shared to write down the top 10 events in Louisiana History. Your team will have to decide for themselves what they think the top 10 events are in Louisiana History.

  13. Research Complete Does your Group have its complete list of the Top 10 Events in Louisiana History? Each person in the group will need to submit the Google in Google Classroom. Make sure that everyone’s name is on the Google Doc.

  14. Publishing Let’s publish your work! Go to : http://www.readwritethink.org/files/resources/interactives/timeline_2/ • Add your names and give your timeline a title. • Click on the timeline to add a new event. • The label needs to be the date. • The Short description needs to be the name of the event. • You do not have to have to pictures. This is optional.

  15. Publishing • Save your Draft if you are not finished with the timeline. • When you are completely finished with the timeline, click Save Final. • Watch where you are saving the file. • Go back to Google Classroom, upload the timeline to me.

  16. Great job on those timelines! You did such a great job, I turned in the timelines that you created to the textbook company. They paid me a lot of money for them. Thank You!
