  2. Adversary - Noun • Opponent • During World War II, Japan found that the United States was a more powerful adversary than it had thought it would be.

  3. Compile - Verb • Assemble; gather; accumulate • After every season, the batting average and other statistics for every player in Major League Baseball are compiled.

  4. Execute - Verb • Put into effect; carry out • Coach Harris has drilled our football team so that we can execute every play with precision.

  6. Ornate - ADJ • Excessively or elaborately decorated • Taste in art today tends to prefer straightforward, unadorned design to design that is ornate.

  7. Raze – Verb • Destroy completely • The hotel was razed so that an office building could be built on the site.
