We would like to announce our 2010 board members. Joe Tremont – President Terry Hoppe – Vice President Randy Barnes – Secretary Brooke Sabo – Treasurer Bianca Gracia – Director We would like thank all those that came out to the meeting. We voted on the annual assessments for 2010. The increase will be as follows: HOA dues will go up from $350 by increasing $50 in 2010 and another $50 increase in 2011 making it a total increase of $100 in the next two years. Due in January 2010 will be $400.

Work in Progress *Receiving bids to repair brick wall on Red Bluff perimeter *Working with the City of Pasadena and Harris County Flood District to turn over detention pond to Harris County Flood District. *Working on updating VGE website *Playground Security Lights have been purchased and need to be replaced Completed Projects VGE Homeowner Parking on Streets. We are still receiving complaints of cars being parked on the street for long periods of time making it difficult to drive through streets. Please keep in mind that parking on the street is not allowed on the streets after 6:00 p.m. per our deed restrictions. We should never park on the street at any time unless we have prior approval. Motorized Vehicles. We are still receiving complaints of motorized vehicles in the community and detention pond areas. Let this serve as a reminder that not only is this action ruining common area but it is considered an annoyance to the surrounding homeowners that reside next to these areas. Please be courteous of your neighbors and if anyone is spotted performing this act – contact Pasadena City Police Department (713) 477-1221. The Pasadena Police Department will and has been citing people who are found violating this ordinance with a ticket with minimum $250 to $500 fine. Home Improvements – ACC Applications. Please remember prior to making any changes to the exterior of your home or yard, you must complete an Architectural Control Committee Application and send it to HCMS for approval. Violators will receive a Deed Restriction violation and you can be sent to the attorney if not completed. Application is available on the website at www.villagegroveeast.org Sidewalks. Homeowner’s we know our sidewalks need improvement. If you have defaults on your sidewalk in front of your house, please call the City of Pasadena at 713-475-5555 and report the default so they can come out and get it fixed. Grass Mowing for ditches on Center St. Our landscapers do an awesome job in keeping our grass mowed, but please keep in mind that the ditch between the pool and Center St and the ditch behind the dead end barricade are the City of Pasadena’s property. As a board we make many phone calls to the City of Pasadena when the grass is long and needs mowing in a timely manner. However, it would be helpful if all our homeowner's could be proactive by picking up the phone and calling the City of Pasadena at 713-475-5555 when you feel it needs mowing.

Lawn Care Calendar Source: Lowe’s Home Improvement Fall / Winter Care Fall Fertilizing and Weed Control ▪ Southern grasses should be fertilized up until dormancy. ▪ If dollar weed, dandelions or other broadleaf weeds appear in the fall, you can apply a fertilizer with broadleaf weed control to kill the weeds and feed your lawn in one application. Seeding / Planting ▪ Fall is an ideal time for overseeing an existing lawn or planting a new lawn. ▪ 5 Simple Steps for Seeding/Planting: 1. Mow the existing lawn short and rake up dead grass and debris. 2. Amend exposed soil with a quality lawn soil. 3. Use a spreader to evenly spread a grass seed that is recommended for your type of lawn – or plant sod or plugs. 4. On the same day, apply a fertilizer for seeding to give seedlings or new grass the nutrients needed to develop. 5. Water to keep the seed or new grass moist for the first 2 to 4 weeks, then apply at least 1” to 1 ½” of water per week. Watering ▪ Even as temperatures begin to cool, your lawn needs water to stay healthy. ▪ Continue to ensure your lawn receives 1” to 1 ½” of water weekly as long as it is actively growing.
