6. Logic of the ToC….. • Domains of change – you cannot achieve gender equitable and sustainable food and nutrition security unless you address the underlying causes of poverty and inequality and build just (equitable, fair) systems for managing opportunity, risk and uncertainty

Technical pillars for a comprehensive approach • Agricultural production and marketing systems • Livelihood strategies • Nutrition • Social protection • Emergency response • Right to food linked to governance To transform the lives of women, girls and their families by building on their own capabilities and desires to ensure the availability, access , utilization and stability of safe, quality nutritious food

An integrated approach – The technical pillars • The technical pillars do address the key components to build livelihoods and protect and provide food and nutrition security for the most vulnerable • The technical pillars do not articulate fundamentals about CARE’s approaches – program approach, analysis, advocacy, women’s empowerment and gender transformation • Therefore, we will contextualize the CI FNS strategy with a program framework

Goal: CARE International, in partnership with stakeholders, supports the empowerment of poor women and girls to realize gender equitable and sustainable food & nutrition security.
