  2. Wat? • Voertuig beweegt uit zichzelf van punt A naar punt B • ‘Automatische piloot’

  3. Geschiedenis • Voor 1980 primitieve auto’s • Ernst Dickmanns -> zorgde voor doorbraak -> zijn auto’s braken vele records • Dickmanns’ Mercedes S-klasse -> rijdt 1678 km autonoom -> snelheden tot 180 km/h

  4. Voordelen • Beter voor milieu door minder CO2 emissie • Wegcapaciteit vergroot -> minder files -> minder ongevallen • Minder stress

  5. Toepassing: ‘RoadTrains’ • SARTRE (Safe Road Trains for the Environment) • In ‘treintje’ rijden achter elkaar • Automatisch volgen voorgaand voertuig • Bestuurder kan tijd nuttig besteden
