  1. Poseidon (Greek); Neptune (Roman) • Parents- Kronus and Rhea • Sphere of Influence: the sea • Attributes: three pronged trident, horses, earthquakes, tsunamis, and waves. • Birthplace- Crete • Favorite Place- Posidonia, now called Paestum, Italy

  2. Picture of Poseidon from 2nd to 3rd century A.D. • This Roman mosaic was found in the House of Dionysus, which was a Roman Villa in the 2nd to 3rd Century. I chose this picture because it shows many attributes of him. One attribute is the most famous one, his three pronged trident. He is lifting it like a weapon as he marches. Another symbol in this picture is his uniform. It resembles an outfit a Roman or Greek would wear. An extra symbol in this piece, is his helmet that he is wearing . This shows that he is strong and ready for battle.

  3. Modern day picture • The painting was posted on July 20th, 2008 and its artist was Dr. Paul Skaria. I chose this painting because it really shows and resembles who Poseidon is. First off, it shows Poseidon in the water with sea animals swimming around him. This really shows how is the god of everything having to do with the sea. He also has a beard and long hair just like most other gods. One main attribute, is the three pronged trident he is holding. He is also wearing a tunic that many ancient people would wear in Rome. This clearly shows that he is the protector of the sea by having him stand on the plants and look over everything around him
