  1. Native Birds 7-8 1/2" (18-22 cm). Male has black head, back, wings, and tail; orange breast, rump, and shoulder patch. Female olive-brown, with dull yellow-orange underparts and 2 dull white wing bars. Description: Clear and flute-like whistled single or double notes in short, distinct phrases with much individual variation. Voice: Baltimore OrioleIcterusgalbula Females Description: 7-9cm. Males have emerald green backs, iridescent ruby red gorget (throat). Females have an emerald green back and a white breast and throat. Juveniles of both gender look like the adult female. Voice: Squeaky chit or chitit, given during interactions and accompanied by wing hum.
