  1. Goal: Look at NBDC work done up to this point to see if a framework emerges that could then guide remaining efforts for linkages/integration. • Science coordination • Ways to organize NBDC information: scales, themes, biophysical/socioeconomic, etc. • A couple of possibilities for feedback… • Themes • Development Pathways • Need updates to activities/tools/data since Nov 2012 meeting

  2. N1 N2 N3 N4 N5 Site Landscape Basin

  3. Themes Socioecon- omic character- ization Insitutions/ policies Participatory assessments Hydromet monitoring Mapping Modeling Livelihoods Site Landscape Basin

  4. Development Pathways Current State Development Processes Target State(s) X Site Landscape Basin

  6. Current State Development Processes Target State(s) X Site 1 6 10 8 4 9 2 Key Messages?!? Landscape 5 • Some examples: • WAT-A-GAME • SE data collection • Basin flow/sediment gauged data • Innovation Platforms • RMS Feasibility mapping • SWAT modeling (site) • SWAT modeling (basin) • Hydromet monitoring • Participatory video • Economic modeling 7 Basin 3

  7. After more feedback, can populate frameworks and synthesize some linkages- NEXT MEETING? • Some may be ‘easy’ • Some may be high-valued, but with high demands for time/budget • Deciding what to pursue raises question: What are we aiming for? NBDC OLM’s / work plans Future funding opps for project components (WLE, other project start-ups) Need more clarity on required project outputs Need specifics (outputs, timelines) on “handles” for follow-on funding sources

  8. Next steps • Populate scale/ development pathway framework including which scales tools focus on and what they are designed to do – Randall to lead • Develop 2 concept notes: • Site level modeling – to integrate with participatory approaches - Randall • Consolidating and evaluation participatory tools and working them into a package and using them in an IP context to achieve better RWM outcomes – Beth • Review the project deliverable plans and relate to OLM’s – check for redundancies/synergies/things that can be dropped – Doug? • Need to work with the existing process messages and build the evidence base. Also need to think about a further level of technical messages. • Exit strategy – Simon and Alan • Gender – Alan and Simones
