  1. Project Status J. Roberts PALM-3000 System Coordination Meeting #17 9/2/10

Components • Electronics • DM cables expected next week • HODM boxes still in debug, but mostly functional • LODM and TTM boards go to fab next week • Infrastructure • Electrical work complete • Add fiber between computer room and AO lab next week • Cooling work progressing - All hardware expected by mid-October • Software • RTC working at min 1000Hz with servo control of HODM • 2kHz working, but not fully tested with HODM • GUI – ACAM, HOWFS pixels, HODM residuals and positions, Motor control, and HWFP parameters are complete • Currently working on debugging and improving the database, which is also essential to the stability of the overall system • Optics • Optical relay fully aligned with RMS WFE of ~60nm at science, mostly 0 astigmatism • CMM measurements of all optics complete • Next to be installed will be the LODM and the new HOWFS • After the review, once the computers are set up at Palomar

  3. Lab Work • First closed loop results show stability and improvement even at very low gains • The gains are: integral=.01, leaky/flatmap=.001. It's using centroid offsets that null out the base wavefront error. The RTC is running at 500Hz. • The movie shows HODM residuals (nm of surface error). The junk at the bottom is optical. The junk in the upper right is a problem with the P3k control electronics
