Science Committee n° 20 PARIS September the 15th, 2006 PLANNING Launch date : End-November Risk factors Delay of MetOp launch : October the 7th, 2006 Qualification of the launcher (new 3rd-stage engine) Soyuz 2.1b Readiness of the Mission Centre delivered on-time (by GMV) Tight schedule of System Tests

Science Committee n° 20 PARIS September the 15th, 2006 SATELLITE PROGRESS • The satellite is fully qualified and the Qualification Review is under progress. • Final activities are waiting for the confirmation of the MetOp launch date (ex.: mounting of solar arrays) • The preparation of the shipping is under progress (packing ,airplane, customs). • The satellite shipping shall be performed as soon as the launch campaign is decided. • Preparation of a possible storage in case of further delay of the launcher

Science Committee n° 20 PARIS September the 15th, 2006 SYSTEM PROGRESS • Corot Mission Centre is still critical • System Tests • Technical Tests done during the last summertime (Test Review next week) • Operational Test are starting • Compatibility test of the Vienna Ground Station is successful (using the Calipso satellite) • Compatibility test of the Alcantara Ground Station has to be done

  5. Science Committee n° 20 PARIS September the 15th, 2006 LAUNCHER STATUS • Open issues • Qualification of the RD-0124 engine (2.1b) • Launch of MetOp (2.1a) • Thermal issue under the fairing (cold case) is resolved by increasing the isolation of the fairing

  6. Science Committee n° 20 PARIS September the 15th, 2006 BUDGET STATUS • The project is asking for some additional funding • Delay of the launch • Logistics ans campaign at Baïkonur are more expansive than expected
