CDASA Mission Statement • CDASA will promote the sport of Carriage Driving throughout South Africa and in all communities and ethnic groups forming part of the Geo-political provinces within South Africa. • CDASA will ensure further training of officials, athletes, coaches and horses in the Discipline of Carriage Driving. • CDASA will endeavour to develop Drivers to join CDASA in competition who come from all sectors of the South African communities e.g The Cart Horse community, by providing special competitions and competition rules until the transformation process has been successfully managed to bridge the void with classical Carriage Driving.

CDASA Objectives • To increase the number of competitive Carriage Drivers in all the Geo-political provinces of South Africa • To improve the standard of Carriage Driving in SA with the objective of International competition • To educate and mentor Transformation and Development members to a level of competency • To train and promote Driving officials to FEI standards

Put in place set criteria for certificates of recognition – not just for working at events. • Work towards acknowledgement of progressive qualification as panel officials by awarding a badge ( Driving Logo) to be worn on a “blazer” as Driving Colours once the official reaches National panel. This would be the standard “judging” step-outs which means the officials can be easily identified. • Establish a strong pool of Trainers , athletes and officials in order to promote the discipline on all fronts. CDASA Keys to success 1 • To establish a Training Program for Officials to qualify and progress through the levels of competency to ultimately be on FEI panels in the various sections of the Discipline. • To establish a Training Program for Instructors and Trainers to FEI standards and requirements. • To promote officials and athletes travelling to other countries to gain experience at international level. • To ensure recordkeeping of all progress results – officials – grading and athletes as well as the horses.

CDASA Keys to success 2 • To put a Committee is in place to ensure Schedules are submitted within the required time frame for submission for final approval before distribution. • To ensure training courses – Provincial, National and International take place regularly to improve the understanding of the rules and standard of driving. • To implement the rules and the regulations. • To ensure open communication lines for all parties - question and answer in the form of a forum. This can be handled via e-mail and distributed widely.

CDASA Keys to success 3 • To ensure there is an understanding that committee members and officials are volunteers and should be treated with respect. • Mutual Respect is necessary at All times to ensure that the Sport Grows from Strength to Strength and that the ties between All members are treated with Respect.

  12. CDASA Strategy and Implementation Identify and set up portfolios in alignment with National requirements. NEC portfolios may change to incorporate requirements and may from time to time establish sub committees. Funding strategy - to identify short term expenses and needs and establish a medium term and long term plan leading to self sustainability

  17. CDASA Future Funding • Lottery Funding of R100 000 - establish a sub committee to decide what this money is be used for such as clinics, Overseas trainers for officials and drivers. In order for the CDASA to advance and grow it needs support from all sectors – National , Provincial and Clubs to ensure a Growing membership Motivation through competition
