  2. Expectations Your teacher expects you to . . . • Follow the school rules • Work hard • Always do your best • Treat others the way you want to be treated • Respect self, others, property

  3. Classroom Values • What do WE value as a class? What behaviors do we WANT to see in our class? On your sticky note, write down a couple of BEHAVIORS you want to see in our class.

  4. Class Rules 1. Respect yourself. 2. Respect others. 3. Respect our school.

  5. 1. Respect yourself. • What does it look like? Think about some ways that we show that we respect ourselves.

  7. 3. Respect our school. • What does it look like? Think about some ways that we show that we respect our school.

  8. Behavior Board • Move clips up and down. • UP = Making good choices • DOWN = Time to make better choices

  9. Think Sheets • Think sheets are completed if you move down the behavior clip board to “Teacher Choice.” • A copy goes home to parents.

  10. Class Procedures

  11. Morning Routine • In the morning, come in and read what is on the Promethean board. • Unpack backpack. • Choose lunch. • Turn in homework. • Copy homework into agenda. • Complete Morning Work.

  12. Hallway • Walk in a straight line • Hands by your side • Silent • “Salt and pepper”

  13. Water and Bathroom • Bathroom signal • Water signal • Not during instruction • Water bottles

  14. Getting Attention • I will count backward from 5 . . . “5, 4, 3, 2, 1” • When I get to 1, it is SILENT. • I will do this when I need your immediate attention.

  15. If you finish early. . . • READ • No drawing • Finish other work you need to turn in.

  16. Homework • DO IT! • Turn it in on time. • Fill out the homework book if you didn’t do it or if you forgot it.

  17. Homework, continued • Homework is assigned every night Monday-Thursday. • Word Study is due Friday • Math sheet is due Friday • Reading every night (Monday-Thursday) and one written Readers’ Response per week

  18. Why Read 20 Minutes?

  19. If you are absent. . . • Check in the folder for the day of the week you weren’t here. • Get any work you missed. • Complete the work and turn it in. • ASK QUESTIONS if you need help.

  20. Classroom Library • Read a book on YOUR “just right” level • One book at a time • Take good care of books • Return them to the correct boxes.

  21. Recess • No football • Every day (20 minutes) • PE 3 days a week
