  2. Stem-and-Leaf Plot Stem Leaf • A display of data that allows you to see the way the data are distributed. It places data in increasing or decreasing order.

  3. Stem-and-Leaf Plot The STEM is the first part of the number, in this case it is the tens digit. The LEAF is the second part of the number, in this case it is the ones digit. Stem-and-leaf plots are good for making lists of numbers shorter and more organized. • In the first group, you have 11, 12, 17, 19 • Second stem, you have 29 • Third stem, you have 30, 33, 35, 38 • Fourth Stem, you have 41, 42, 46, 47 • Fifth stem, you have 54,55,57,58
