  3. Timothy’s Life: Mid-first century • Learned Jewish scriptures from mother and grandmother as a child • Met Apostle Paul on first missionary journey to Lystra • Paul sent Timothy to Corinth church to fix problems • Paul had to visit Corinth church himself to fix problems

  4. Timothy’s Life: Mid-first century • Timothy traveled with Paul on second missionary trip • They delivered decisions reached by apostles and elders from Jerusalem • Timothy traveled with Paul on third missionary trip • They revisited churches in Asia and Macedonia

What changed when the mid-first century Church of Ephesus respond to Timothy’s leadership • Three years of Timothy's time were spent giving his blood and tears to the people at Ephesus. • The people were following and being guided by Greek Philosophers. • They taught that they body was evil and only the soul mattered.
