  1. Office of Special Services Orientation of Services and Accommodations

  2. Office of Special Services Academic Counseling The Office of Special Services has trained certificated counselors who are available to assist students with individual academic advisement including writing a student educational plan. Students are encouraged to schedule an appointment to see OSS at least twice a semester.

  3. Office of Special Services Learning Disability Assessment Services include: assessment of academic strengths and weaknesses and the determination of eligibility for services, academic accommodations (including assistive technology access, alternative text formats, exam proctoring and environmental and time adjustments on exams), self-advocacy instruction, referrals to campus and community resources, study skill classes, adaptive computer classes and academic tutoring.

  4. Office of Special Services Reader Services • Reader services assist students in the coordination of : • Testing accommodations • Note Takers • Braille Translation • Text Enlargement • Scribes/ Recordings • Scantron Assistance

  5. Office of Special Services Tutoring Services At the Tutoring Services, we serve over 200 students with over 15 tutors. Our tutors are present and past LACC students. Our students are ready to assist in a variety of subject, such as: English, Psychology, Spanish, Health, History, Philosophy, Anthropology, Sociology, Child Development, Anatomy, Physiology, Math, Chemistry, Biology, Accounting, Economics, Business, Music, Guitar, and Geography.

  6. Office of Special Services Interpreter Services Sign Language Interpreters and Real Time Captioning are provided to all Deaf and Hard of Hearing students that are registered with OSS. All Sign Language Interpreters help to facilitate the communication between Deaf and Hard of Hearing students and the faculty and staff of LA City College.

  7. Office of Special Services High Tech Center To accommodate a variety of educational limitations, OSS has trained staff that facilitate the HTC. The HTC has a multitude of adaptive/assistive technology the help students obtain their educational goals.
