William Clarke Wontner (Stockwell, Surrey, Inglaterra, 17 de enero de 1857 - Worcester, Inglaterra, 23 de septiembre de 1930)Pintor académico.Hijo de un famoso arquitecto William Wontner Hoff (1814-1881) y Catherine Smith.Fue uno de los pintores menores de edad que siguió el movimiento neoclásico en Inglaterra, que Alma-Tadema fue el principal exponente. Estudió con John William Godward (1861-1922), también participó en el movimiento y su gran amigo.Pintado tentadoras, sobre todo con fondos classicista.Teve expuesto su trabajo en la Real Academia de 1879, la Sociedad de Artistas Británicos y el Instituto Real de Pintores en Acuarela.Se casó con Jessie Margarita Keene (1872-1950), hija de Joseph Charles Keene, 07 de junio, 1894.La pareja no tuvo hijos.
