RHA in 2005 Chapter 1 overview – slightly expanded from previous years Evaluation synthesis Study on utilisation of evaluation findings and recommendations Meta-analysis once every two years Chapter 2 – now replaced by stand alone study, probably on participation and consultation of affected populations

  7. ALNAP Guides Protection - An ALNAP Guide for Humanitarian AgenciesFirst edition. Published 2005.Translated into Spanish and Arabic. French to be arranged. Japanese underway. Requests for translation in Russian and Indonesian.Oxfam to take over publication and distribution. Practitioners Handbook on Participation and ConsultationDraft manual trialled. Re-write in progress, due to end in January 2006. To be published by Oxfam. Evaluating Humanitarian Action Final edit underway. Publication process to begin at the end of February 2006.

Evaluative Reports Database and Website • A revamped version of the Evaluative Reports Database has been launched: • Improved login facilities – ALNAP members need reapply for access. • Improved management for secretariat. • Feedback welcome • Current overhaul/facelift planned for ALNAP website. • Useful Resources Database • To be phased out in 12 months or discontinued?

Meetings and Representation • Official launch of ALNAP Protection Guide: Centre of Humanitarian Dialogue, Geneva • Beyond the Blame Game: meeting on informing ongoing policy and programming in NIGER. Organised with HPG • Meeting of Quality and Accountability Initiatives, Geneva. • Danish Refugee Council: presentation by MH to Country Programme Managers • USAID: presentation by TB on findings from ALNAP RHA. • British Red Cross Society: presentation by JM on reflections on the RHA in the light of the work of Clara Barton. • IECHA Madrid. presentation by JM on lessons from the RHA and reflections on the work of the TEC • HPG Advisory Group: presentation by JM on potential findings from the TEC in the light of previous findings from the RHA.
