Current Activities (1) Published in 2007: • RSS-GEN (Issue 2) – General Requirements for Equipment Certification • RSP-100 (Issue 9) – Radio Equipment Certification Procedure • RSS-111 (Issue 2) - Broadband Public Safety Equipment Operating in the Band 4940-4990 MHz • RSS-119 (Issue 9 - Land Mobile and Fixed Radio Transmitters and Receivers Operating in the Frequency Range 27.41- 960 MHz • RSS-210 (Issue 7) – Low Power, Licence-Exempt Device (Category I) • RSS-287 (Issue 1) - Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacons (EPIRB), Emergency Locator Transmitters (ELT), Personal Locator Beacons (PLB), and Maritime Survivor Locator Devices (MSLD) • RSS-310 (Issue 2) – Low Power, Licence-Exempt Device (Category II) Withdrawn in 2007: • RSS-130 (Issue 2) – Digital Cordless Telephones In the Band 944 to 948.5 MHz • RSS-212 (Issue 1) – Test Facilities and Test Methods for Radio Equipment To be published: (September 2007) • RSS-194 (Issue 1) – Fixed Wireless Access Equipment Operating in the Band 953-960 MHz (SRSP-300.953)

Current Activities (2) Ready for publication- On Hold until release of the Policy. • RSS-133 (Issue 4) – 2 GHz Personnal Communication Services (SRSP-510) • Revising the frequency band from 1850-1910 MHz and 1930-1990 MHz to 1850-1915 MHz and 1930-1995 MHz, respectively to reflect proposal in IC consultation paper DGTP-002-07. • Draft RSS-133 Issue 4 is already discussed under the RABC AWS WG on SRSP and RSS. • RSS-139 (Issue 1)- Advanced Wireless Services (AWS) Equipment Operating in the Bands 1710-1755 MHz and 2110-2155 MHz (SRSP-513) • New RSS for AWS to reflect proposal in IC consultation paper DGTP-002-07 • Draft RSS-139 Issue 1 is already RABC discussed under the AWS WG on SRSP and RSS. • RSS-112 (Issue 1)- Land Mobile and Fixed Equipment Operating in the Band 1670-1675 MHz (SRSP-514) • New RSS for Land Mobile and Fixed Equipment to reflect proposal in IC consultation paper DGTP-002-07 • Draft RSS-112 Issue 1 is already circulated to the AWS WG on SRSP and RSS

Current Activities (3) Ready for publication • RSS-192 (Issue 3) -Fixed Wireless Access Equipment Operating in the band 3450-3650 MHz (SRSP 303.4) • To harmonize the following with the ETSI standard: • Output Power Tolerance ±1 dB to ±2 dB • New Unwanted Emission Mask • Had been discussed within FWA WG and IC received the outcome of discussion sent by RABC Revisions and New RSSs in progress: • RSS-220 (Issue 1- Draft) – Device using Ultra-wideband (UWB) Technology • RSS-220 is in harmony with FCC Part 15 Subpart F. • Except – In Canada Imaging devices are licence-exempt while in the U.S., they must be eligible for licensing under Part 90. • RSS-142 (Issue 3) –Narrowband Multipoint Communication Systems in the 1429.5-1430.5 MHz and 1493.5-1496.5 MHz Bands(SRSP-301.4, CPC 2-1-22) • To update the frequency band from 1427-1430 MHz to 1429.5-1430.5 MHz to reflect IC policy for spectrum below 1.7 GHz (DGTP-004-05) • To relax the unwanted emission limit falls into the band 1452-1492 MHz. • Revisit to harmonize with FCC standard to the greatest extent as possible (Last issue dated August 2002, Provisional). • Discussion completed at the RABC WG on RSS-142

Current Activities (4) Future work: • RSS-137 (Issue 2) – Location and Monitoring Service (902-928 MHz) • Revisit to harmonize with FCC standard (Last Issue dated 1999) • Automatic Vehicle Identification (AVI) Tag 902-928 MHz • RSS-170 (Issue 2) – Satellite Mobile Earth Stations • Revisit to be in line with international standard for mobile earth station • (New) Include certification requirements for Ancillary Terrestrial Components (ATCS) in the 1.6 GHz • RSS-141 (Issue 2) – Aeronautical Radiocommunication Equipment in the Frequency Band 117.975-137 MHz • (New) May expand to include various aeronautical radio equipment at various frequency bands (New) • Revisit to be in line with international standard for aeronautical radiocommunication equipment in the 117.975-137 MHz • RSS-210 (Issue 8)– Low Power, Licence-Exempt Devices (Category I) • Tank Level Probing Radars operating in the band 75 GHz - 85 GHz • RSS-282 (Issue 1) – Maritime Radio Transmitters and Receivers in the Band 156-162.5 MHz (Sept 2003) • Up-date base on comments received from Transport Canada. • Re-Format. • RSS-102 (Issue 3) - Radio Frequency Exposure Compliance of Radiocommunication Apparatus (All Frequency Bands) (November 2005) • Base Station issues. • RSS-236 (Issue 1) - Land and Mobile Station Radiotelephone Transmitters and Receivers Operating in the 26.960 - 27.410 MHz General Radio Service Band (Oct 2002) • Revisit the limits for the unwanted receiver emission, • Re-format • RSS-238 (Issue 1) - Commercial Shipborne Radar in the 2900-3100 MHz, 5470-5650 MHz and 9225-9500 MHz Bands (Feb 2004) • Re-Format

Current Activities (5) Future work: • RSS-191 (Issue 3) - Local Multipoint Communication Systems in the 28 GHz Band; Point-to-Point; Point-to-Point and Point-to-Multipoint Broadband Communication Systems in the 24 GHz and 38 GHz Bands (August 2002) (SRSP 324.25, 325.35, 338.6) • Remove certification requirement for point-to-point equipment in the 38 GHz. On Hold: • RSS-243 (Issue 3) - Active Medical Implants Operating in the 402-405 MHz Band • To add 401-402 MHz and 405-406 MHz Bands. • Have not received any input. • RSS-193 (Issue 2) - Multipoint and Point-to-Point Communication Systems (MCS) in the Fixed Service Operating in the 2150-2160 MHz, 2500-2596 MHz and 2686-2690 MHz (SRSP 302.5) • Pending until final decision on the band plan.

Update on ICES Published in 2007: • ICES-002 (Issue 4) Spark Ignition Systems of Vehicles and Other Devices Equipped with Internal Combustion Engines (February 2007) • ICES-005 (Issue 2) Radio Frequency Lighting Devices (February 2007) Future work: • ICES-005 (Issue 3) Radio Frequency Lighting Devices • To correct the limits to harmonize with FCC. On Hold: • ICES-007 (New) Certification of Access BPL Devices (Unintentional Radiators) • New standard to address BPL equipment specifications. • ICES-008 (New) Installation and Operation of Access BPL Systems (Unintentional Radiators) • New standard to address the deployment of BPL system and coordination.
