Ch.7 Words • Dun- An almost neutral brownish gray to dull grayish brown • Brine- the sea or ocean • Obtuseness- not quick or alert in perception or feeling; not observant • Apprehension- the suspicion or fear of future trouble or evil. • Vulnerable- open to an attack (physical or mental) • Traverse- to pass or move over, along, or through • Daunting- to lessen the courage of; dishearten • Impervious- incapable of being influenced or persuaded.

Ch. 8 Words • Rebuke- to express sharp disapproval of • Catastrophe- any misfortune mishap or failure • Demented- crazy; insane; mad • Skewered- to fasten with a long pin of wood • Cynicism- bitterly or sneeringly distrustful • Runnels- a small channel for water • Iridescent- displaying a play of colors like those of the rainbow. • Vexed- irritated or annoyed
