Data for Student Learning • Project Initiated in Spring 2000 in response to needs expressed by schools. • Summer of 2000 the NOACSC DA-Site staff and two college students developed the prototype software. • Fall of 2000 production software released to any interested DA-Sites OELMA / GOTEC 2002

  3. Data for Student Learning Today Data for Student Learning has grown based on the needs of Ohio Schools to include the following: • Student Information System • Student Assessment Reporting System • Decision Support System OELMA / GOTEC 2002

  16. You Can Help As a Librarian / Media Specialist you have an important role • You can assist in cataloging resources that are effective and appropriate in meeting State standards. • You can encourage Teachers to review materials that they find effective. OELMA / GOTEC 2002

Resources to assist you • INFOhio Assistance • Guidelines for Enhancing MARC records will be updated • INFOhio will develop a program to extract records based upon the coding for the proficiencies and will add a tag for the new standard that has replaced the proficiency • NWOET Website OELMA / GOTEC 2002

  18. Tag 658 - Index Term - Curriculum Objective Ohio Learner Outcomes (Proficiency Objectives) Sub-field $c is essential for updating when the objectives are changed by the State Department. You are in good company There is a coalition known as Ohio Partners In Promoting Student Academic Achievement (OPIPSAA) that seeks to provide links to resources aligned to Ohio's Academic Achievement Standards. www.ode.state.oh.us/academic_content_standards/ This coalition includes representatives from INFOhio, the MC/OECN, the Ohio Resource Center, the Eisenhower National Clearing House, the Ohio SchoolNet Commission, the Ohio Historical Society, the EdTechs, the Area Media Centers, and the Ohio Department of Education.
