Research • High School is Over • No Dictionary • No Encyclopedia (or wikipedia) • Words Count (quantity, quality) • Sophisticated Thesis • Hypothesis/Thesis • Primary Materials • Interviews, Observation, Experiments, Surveys, “first person” • Secondary Material • Academic Journals (peer reviewed, scholarly, juried texts), “the work of others” • Must be current (3 year window with exceptions)

  5. Documentation • Failure to Cite is Plagiarism • F in the Course • Integrity Hearing • Modern Language Association (MLA) • Cite all quotations • Cite all summary material • Cite all paraphrased material • Applies to Primary and Secondary Research
