  4. Criteria for Promotion to Sec 5 Sec 4 NA students can be promoted to Sec 5N if they satisfy the following criteria: ELMAB3 ≤19, with at least N(A)-level grade 5 for all subjects in computing ELMAB3 The use of combined results is allowed for the purpose of computing the aggregate score for promotion to Sec 5N. However, students can only combine the results of 2 consecutive GCE ‘N’ Level Examination. Registration Form (Purple) to be submitted latest by Thursday (20 Dec 2012) 10 am Class Allocation will be announced via school website by Friday (28 Dec 2012) 5 pm

  5. ITE DES-to-Poly Programme (DPP) • For N(A) students who are fairly strong academically ELMAB3 ≤ 19 points • Suitable for students whose learning styles are more application-based and hands-on • Advantage of choosing DPP over Sec 5N • Direct entry to Higher Nitec, which is otherwise only available for O-level holders • Students assured of 1st or 2nd year place in related poly Diploma course, if they attain qualifying GPA scores

  6. Criteria for Poly Foundation Programme (PFP) For N(A) students who are academically strong and clearly polytechnic bound ELMAB3 ≤11, with a minimum grade of 3 for EL and MA Only for 4NA students, not for Sec 4 Exp and 5NA students

  7. Computation of ELMAB3 • Combinations to compute ELMAB3: • a) GCE N(A)-level results only • Firm offer by 24 Dec 12 (9 am) • b) GCE N(A)-level + Prelim O-level results • Conditional offer by 24 Dec 12 (9 am), firm offer after GCE “O” release on 16 Jan 13 (2pm) tentatively • c) GCE N(A)-level + GCE O-level results • Firm offer after GCE “O” release • Students offering duplicate subjects at both N- & O-levels: ELMAB3 computation for PFP will take the better grade

  8. Conversion Matrix for Sec 5

  9. Conversion matrix for DPP • GCE N(A)-level + Prelim O-level or GCE O level results Note: O level grade of F9 and N(A) grade of 6 will not be used to determine DPP eligibility

  10. Conversion matrix for PFP GCE N(A)-level + Prelim O-level or GCE O level results Note: ‘O’ Level grades of E8 and F9 will not be considered in both aggregate score computation as well as minimum entry requirements.

  11. Computation of ELMAB3 For example ELMAB3 = 8+1 = 9

  12. Can CCA points be used to compute ELMAB3? You must achieve the minimum criteria of ELMAB3 ≤ 19 before CCA bonus points can be factored into ELMAB3 aggregate for selection and posting. For example CCA grade A1-A2: 2 points CCA grade B3-C6: 1 point Raw ELMAB3 = 10 Net ELMAB3 = 10-2 = 8

  13. How do I apply for the PFP/DPP?  • Eligible students will receive a form with a PIN upon release of N-level results • They should use PIN to log on to PFP/DPP website to create an account • A password will then be emailed to them for online application for PFP/DPP • PFP: application phase from 17 Dec – 19 Dec 12 (4 pm) • DPP: application phase from 17 Dec – 20 Dec 12 (5pm) • Release of application outcome by SMS/email on • 24 Dec 12 (9 am)
