  2. Questions • What country has the largest column? What are the reasons that you think that this country has the highest amount? Germany has the largest column. It has the lowest amount because this country is a developing country and doesn’t have a lot of money for an education to be a doctor and doesn’t have a lot of money to buy medication and supplies for doctors. • Look at the 5th and 6th ranked countries. Are they developed, developing, or one of each? Why do you think that they are where they are in the rankings? Use data to help you answer the question. Canada and Haiti are the 5th and 6th ranked countries. Canada is developed and Haiti is developing. They are at this ranking because even though Canada is developed not many people live there because it is so cold and Haiti doesn’t have a lot of money for supplies for doctors. • Look at the 7th and 8th ranked countries. Are they developing countries? If so, what do they need to do in order to get to the top half of the rankings? Use data from any information to help you answer the question. The 7th and 8th ranked countries are Zimbabwe and Somalia. Both of these countries are developing. For these countries to get to the top ranking they need to have a better education more supplies for doctoring. • Name another country (other than the US) that stands out to you on the chart. Describe the country and what type of impact it has on world consumption. • Germany stands out of the chart as well. Germany is a developed country like the US. They are a wealthy country and can afford to have a higher physician density than other non-developed and even some developed countries.

It has the smallest amount because it is a developing country and probably doesn’t have much money for good education. • Look at the 5th and 6th ranked countries. The 5th and 6th ranked countries are Haiti and Somalia. Both of these countries are developing. They are at this ranking because they don’t have a lot of money for a good education, and because of this many people don’t learn how to read. • Look at the 7th and 8th ranked countries. Are they developing countries? If so, what do they need to do in order to get to the top half of the rankings? Use data from any information to help you answer the question. The 7th and 8th ranked countries are Somalia and Chad. They are both developing countries. To get to the top half rankings they will need to get a better education for the people in the countries. • Name another country (other than the US) that stands out to you on the chart. Describe the country and what type of impact it has on world consumption. • France has a high literacy rate as well. This is a developed country as well, so there is higher education to learn to read.

Canada is parsley developed, but most of it is developing, and France is developed. They are at this ranking because in France there are plenty of places for tourist to go there, and in Canada it is very cold in most places so a lot of people don’t want to live there. • Look at the 7th and 8th ranked countries. Are they developing countries? If so, what do they need to do in order to get to the top half of the rankings? Use data from any information to help you answer the question. The 7th and 8thranked countries are Somalia and Chad. These are both developing countries. They need more money to get food and shelter so more people will move there. • Name another country (other than the US) that stands out to you on the chart. Describe the country and what type of impact it has on world consumption. Brazil also has a high population. This is a developed country, and they have a large country so this may be why they have the 2nd largest on the chart.
