  6. Desert Wanderings 1280 BC-1240 BC They wander in the desert for 40 years The Israelites build and worship a golden calf while waiting for Moses to return from God’s mountain and earn a great punishment

  10. Downfall of Israel & Judah Babylonian Exile 722BC – 583 BC 593 BC – 583BC The Babylonians attack and conquer Judah. Jerusalem and the Temple is destroyed 722 BC, Israel is destroyed by Assyria 583 BC Israel is taken to Babylonia and is forced to live in exile there

  11. Return, Restoration & Rededication 538BC- 513BC After 50 years in exile the Israelites return to Jerusalem The Temple is rebuilt Ezra, the priest rededicates the people and the temple to God

  12. Maccabean Revolt & Rule 167BC-64BC After a long period of foreign domination the Jews win their independence; This last for about 100 years In 64 BC the Roman Empire invades and conquers Palestine

  13. Messianic Fulfillment The promised savior arrives and lives among us for 33 years 0-33AD

  14. The Church 33AD- End The Apostles and then those they ordain continue the mission of Jesus Pentecost- The Holy Spirit gives strength to the apostles and the Apostolic Church begins The Church will exist, with the Holy Spirit as its guide until Jesus comes again
