  2. Peninsulas and Islands • Top mainland of southeast Asia is Indochinese Peninsula, and Malaya Peninsula • Most Island are found in Archipelagoes(A set of closely grouped island) • The Philippines and the island of Indochinese are part of Malya archipelago.

  3. Mountains and Volcanoes • Annamese Cordillera is a type of mountain range that run from North and South. • Most Mountains are volcanic origin • Southeast Asia is part of the Pacific Ring of Fire

  4. Rivers and Coastlines • The mainland Large rivers spread out into fertile deltas. • Million people rely on the Mekong for farming and fishing. Mekong River, Vietnam

  5. Resources • Fertile soil is a valuable resources for Southeast Asia. • Volcanic and flooding rivers add nutrients to their soil. • Has a lot of fish in the rivers and sea.

Oceania’s Many Islands • Erosion sometime create island or cause island to vanish. • High Island are created by volcanoes • Low island are made by coral reefs. • Most Oceania’s are small. • Oceania’s is low in resources. • Has poor soil, rock and mineral. • Lack of resources makes it difficult to develop industry.

Majestic New Zealand • North island and south island are two main island of new Zealand. • South island has 16 peak over10,000ft high, and more than 360 glaciers. • North island has hilly ranges and a volcanic plateau. It is much less mountainous than South Island. • North Island has good fertile farmland and forest that support lumber industry • N.I has many rivers running to the sea.

  8. Flat Australia • Australia is the smallest and flattest continent on earth. • Australia has very few river and the largest is the Murray River. • It’s rich in minerals. • The world largest coral reefs is Great Barriers Reef.

Icy Antarctica • Antarctica is the world fifth largest continent. • Its round and the center of the south pole. • East Antarctica is a plateau surround by mountains and valleys. • West Antarctic is a group of island that is group together by Ice. • Antarctica’s Ice Sheet is the largest fresh water in the world.
