Ancient China • China is one of the world’s oldest civilizations • Around 1500 BC , oracle bones were used by the Chinese to predict the future • The Zhou Dynasty rule is regarded as the longest in Chinese history. It lasted from 1027 to 221 BC. • Ancient Chinese people worshiped a natural force , t’ien or heaven , that was believed to be the power behind natural disasters • Building the Great Wall of China was started during the Qin rule , but it was completed during the reign of the Ming Dynasty.

  3. Natural Environment The ancient Chinese civilization developed in the green hills,river valleys and plains of the eastern part of china today!

  4. Ancient Chinese animals • Since ancient times, China had many different kinds of animal life due to its climatic and vegetative diversity. Be it domestic or wildlife, ancient China has records of several amazing species of animals.

  5. Ancient Chinese society The Shi - This was the top most social position occupied by the scholars and the other respectable men. • The Nong- They occupied the very next social strata. They were mainly peasants or farmers by occupation. The Gong- The third social strata was occupied by the artisans and the craftsmen.

  6. Ancient Chinese culture • Chinese culture is one of the oldest cultures of the world. The Chinese traditions and culture vary between the different towns, and provinces.
