Metrics. How are we doing? (How much waste is being recycled, how much CO2 are we emitting, how do those Compare to our targets?) What should we do? (Are there compost bins in every kitchen area? Does our building design process ensure that new buildings will be highly efficient ?).

  2. Metrics are a component of an EMS (Environmental Management System) “An EMS is a continual cycle of planning, implementing, reviewing and improving the processes and actions that an organization undertakes to meet its business and environmental goals.”
