  1. Camp Kaitawa By Corbyn Betts

  2. The day started with a warm breeze as the year 5s headed off for the best camp ever! All the year 5s were exploding with excitement because we are going to see the beautiful green lake, the huge mountain, the obstacle course, the pitch black caves and then we would have to pack up and go home.

  3. Monday As soon as we arrived at camp we put our bags in our rooms and got changed into our walking clothes. Then we walked past the green lake. It was beautiful but freezing cold. Then we walked to the surge chamber, up the pipeline and down, then back to camp.

  4. Tuesday After a good nights rest we had to get our day pack, grab our lunch and head off. When we got to the Ngamoko walk it took seven hours. Lots of people were getting hurt. We got back to camp at 5.00pm.

  5. Wednesday When we got up we had breakfast, packed our lunch and walked to Lake Waikareiti. After our walk we played in our dorms and then Mrs Johnson asked us to put our running shoes on. Then we went to do the very challenging obstacle course. We went over, on, through and under. What a challenging obstacle course that was.

  6. Thursday The noise grew louder as we arrived at the caves. Everyone was excited. Then we set off. There were lots of caves and tomes. It was very, very fun in all of the long, dark, creepy caves.

  7. Friday Finally home time. We had to pack all of our bags. After breakfast some of the parents had to get their trailers hooked onto their cars and put the food and bags into the trailers. When they were doing that we went and played a game with Mrs Johnson. We played seaweed. When we had finished we went back up to camp and then we set off to Wairoa and had lunch. After lunch we went back to school. WOW!! What an amazing camp. I loved it!
