  4. LTU – Dryrunsetup • 1 VME processor + 6 TTC partitions + 3 TTCit boards • LTU & TTCit boards in VME crate: NA62 Collaboration Meeting in Siena - TDAQ LTU status

Connection tests • LTU global mode: TALK -> LTU -> TEL62 ok • LTU standalone mode: LTU -> TEL62 ok • connectiontested also with TTCit • SoB / EoB signals and triggers ok • Choke/error • problem with connectors on LTUs • it will be fixed by Marian NA62 Collaboration Meeting in Siena - TDAQ LTU status

Dry run - timing issues • TALK – LTU connection(solved) • LVDS cable termination problem • termination resistor only at the last LTU in daisy chain • TTCex phase instability after power off/on • known problem of TTCex MKII boards • dry run setup: 6x TTCex - 3 are OK, 3 are unstable • need for automatic procedure of phase measurement (in cooperation with TALK) • Counter synchronization after SoB signal • 10 BC clock constant offset between TALK and TEL trigger counters • stable offset → not a problem in normal run of experiment NA62 Collaboration Meeting in Siena - TDAQ LTU status

Software status – LTU LTUdirect software(running on the VME processor) new features: • choke/error support enable/disable • SoB/EoB support for emulations • more friendly counter observing • batch running to configure LTU’s and TTCit’s • color signaling of the Run-control type of state NA62 Collaboration Meeting in Siena - TDAQ LTU status

Software status – LTU LTUDIM software (running anywhere) • functionally identical to LTUdirect • communicating with LTU via DIM • needs common NA62 DIM name server running, currently by Nicolas at PCNA62DCS02.cern.ch • identifies LTU boardnot by its VME address (like 0x832000), but by its DIM name (like LTU_MUV) NA62 Collaboration Meeting in Siena - TDAQ LTU status

Software status – LTU DIM servers • support for Run Control (tested ok) • support for remote RESTART/SHUTDOWN (tested ok) • currently operated only via Did (universal DIM client) • to be decided whether to be included into Nicolas‘or Valeri’s software • added boot scripts to configure all LTU and TTCit boards in crate and start all DIM servers • currently, we do not have remote access to crate power, however we do need it, can we get help?(e.g. remote customer window in Valeri’s software?) Software status – TTCit TTCitdirect software (running on the VME processor) • GUI concept similar to LTUdirect • added counter inspection • improved snapshot memory (SSM) display • we shall prepare the TTCitDIM version (similar concept to LTUDIM) NA62 Collaboration Meeting in Siena - TDAQ LTU status

Future plans • Automatic phase measurement procedure • TTCitDIM software • LTU snapshot memory • Improved LTU emulation: • handling of full emulation sequence in firmware (currently implemented in software) SoB– SoBT – triggers – EoB – EOBT • triggering of emu sequence by external signals SoB/EoB NA62 Collaboration Meeting in Siena - TDAQ LTU status

Summary • Local Trigger Unit (LTU) is working well • Most of the issues have been resolved • Software updates -> check our Twiki page • Work to be done before technical run: • auto phase measurement, TTCitDIM, LTU SSM, emulation… • remote access to VME crate power NA62 Collaboration Meeting in Siena - TDAQ LTU status
