Cycling Master Plan(CMP) • In 2012, Northumberland County finalized a CMP • The plan encompasses the following: • The establishment of five (5) identified cycling routes • An infrastructure expenditure plan over 20 years to establish commuter, recreational and tourism routes • Creating a standard set of design guidelines for implementation • The establishment of awareness programs

Impacts of New Linkage • Provides a continuous route for cyclists • Allows for access to Waterfront Trail • Part of the Welcome Cyclists Network with over 50 establishments registered including restaurants, B&B’s, etc. • Safe low-traffic count roads • Exposes cyclists to Northumberland’s beautiful landscape

  6. Council’s Approval • Council has approved the installation of signs, i.e., “SHARE THE ROAD”, Greenbelt Cycling Route and other related signs • Allocating monies in budget for lane widening to allow for 1.5m cycling lanes, shoulder treatment and line painting
