  1. Welcome to Fifth Grade Parent Night! We’re so glad you’re here!!!!!

  2. Who’s who in Fifth Grade? • Mrs. Anderson- Literacy • Mrs. Skidmore- Math • Mrs. Coren- Science & Social Studies

  3. Grading Scale • Henderson County Public School mandated grading scale looks like this: • A= 93-100 • B=85-92 • C= 84-77 • D= 76-70 • F= 69 or below

  4. Homework • We do give homework, but it’s very routine and students know what to expect. • Sign LOG each night • Check agenda • Go through binders • Binder days: Monday- Literacy, Wednesday-Science, Thursday-Math

  5. Make-up Work • Sick or a planned trip? No worries! • Students are responsible for coming to us for makeup work when they return. • We do not give makeup work in advance!

  6. Tardies • Please come to school by 7:50! This makes it easier on the teachers and students so that everyone can get things in order and ready for the day to start!

  7. How do Data Notebooks work?

  8. Supplies • Please make sure that your child has all their supplies. School supplies lists are on the school website.

  9. Box Tops/Coke Codes • We still collect Box Tops! Please save them for us! Each teacher gets a check for whatever they collect in Box Tops to use in our classrooms! • Coke Codes also go to the school!

  10. Snack/ Cafeteria • Quick snack each day at 9:10. • Lunch times: Skidmore 11:10-11:40 Anderson 11:15-11:45 Coren 11:20-11:50 Come eat with us!!!!!

  11. Medical Issues • If your child has medical issues, please let us know! • Make sure that all medications are at the school with action plans IMMEDIATELY!

  12. Custody Issues • If there is a custody issue, please let us know. • Safety is first!

  13. Backpack Program • Backpack program is for families who may need some extra assistance. It’s available to you- just ask!

  14. Conferences • Parent-Teacher conferences will be held in the next month by your child’s teacher to discuss the year so far. • Conferences can also be requested by the parent or teacher at any time.

  17. Field Trips • Several downtown • Outdoor Ed. • DOLLYWOOD!!!!!!!

  18. Fifth Grade Fundraiser • Theme “iPod Shuffle” • Date for fundraiser: Thursday, September 12th 5:30-7. Tickets will go on sale soon!!! • Sign up for volunteering

  19. Room Moms (Or Dads) Needed! • Let us know if you could help out with this or would like to volunteer in any way • Volunteer sheets will come home shortly

  20. Wish List • One shared wish list- OPTIONAL Clorox Wipes Recess Equipment (Balls, ropes, etc) Expo Markers
