1. Second Grade Newsletter November 2013 A Note from Your Teachers: *Please continue to practice addition and subtraction facts at home with your children. As we learn the strategies to add and subtract two-digit numbers, knowing the facts automatically makes it much easier for the students. *Please also continue to practice telling time with your children. It is a difficult process and the more practice they get, the easier it will become. Units of Study: *Native Americans: Pueblo, Powhatan, and Lakota *Geometry: solid figures, congruent shapes, and slides, flips, and turns *Computation: Two-digit addition and subtraction *Magnets: attract, repel, poles American Education Week: *Second grade classes will be putting on a performance for parents in the musicroom on Wednesday, November 20. You may also eat lunch with your child on this day.
