  2. DESCRIPTION OF BIOME The rain forest is a jungle were a lot of animals live also they are plants, trees and there are poison animals that live there. The rain forest has four layers the emergent layer, the canopy layer, understory layer, and the forest floor layer.

  3. Location on earth The location of the rain forest is in South America.

  5. Fact 1 Rain forest covers only a small part of the earths surface about 6 percent yet they are home to over half the species of plants and animals in the world. Ar area of a rainforest the size of a football field is being destroyed each second. Giant bamboo plants can grow up to 9 inches a day. The trees of a tropical rainforest are so densely packed that rain falling on the canopy can take 10 minutes to reach the ground.

  6. Fact 2 Some rainforest monkeys are omnivores, eating both animals and plants. More than 2,000 different species of butterflies are found in the rainforest of south america. The forest of central Africa are home to more than 8,000 different species of plants. Flying animals of Asia rainforests includes frogs, squirrels, and snakes.

Fact 3 • 8O percent of the flowers in the Australian rainforest are not found anywhere else in the world. • Bats are essential for the pollination of many tropical food stuff such as bananas and mangoes. • 1 out of 4 ingredients in our medicine is from rainforest plants. • About 2,000 trees per minute are cut down in the rainforest.

Fact 4 • Rainforest are forests that experience a 2 high level of rainfall • Tropical rainforest lie in the tropics around 28 degrees north or south of the equator such as Asia, Africa, central America and the Pacific Islands. • Rainforest used to cover 14 percent of the earths surface but due to deforestation now only cover around 6 percent. • Over 25 percent of natural medicines have been discovered in rainforest.
