Picture shows Love Squad members Form 4 Catechism students, Filipinos & Leaders about to distribute envelopes & flyers

  4. LENTEN CAMPAIGN- WEEK 1 – LENTEN TREE Thank you DEAR PARISHIONERS for your overwhelming support. Items in cash & kind were handed to the recipients by Fr. Dominic & the SSVP representatives on Thursday, 12th May 2011 at 6.30 pm followed by fellowship. “He took the five loaves and the two fishes, raised his eyes to Heaven, pronounced the blessing, broke the loaves , and handed them to the disciples to distribute to the people. And they all ate , and everyone had enough; “ Matthew 14:19-20

  5. THE LENT CROSS YOUR PETITIONS were lifted up in prayer and burnt prior to Holy Thursday by Fr. Dominic, Teresa Lai, Edwin, Cecil Law & Margaret Chelliah. CITY PARISH THANKS the Team & All Parishioners for their prayers & concerns . LET US REMEMBER JESUS WORDS: “If you remain in me and my words in you, you may ask whatever you want, and it will be given to you.” John 15:7 At St. Francis Xavier

  6. LENTEN CAMPAIGN- WEEK 3 - Lenten Multi-Lingual Migrant Mass on 27th March 2011 Sunday DATE : 27th March 2011(Sunday) Main celebrant: Fr. Dominic Special thanks to: (i) The Choir comprising of our fellow Sabahans, Sarawakians , Filipinos, other migrants and City Parish parishioners. (ii) To all who contributed and attended the fellowship. Evaluation: (i) Would welcome greater participation by local parishioners. (ii) Greater awareness of the needs of migrants . (iii) Migrants themselves more aware of church services and activities.

LENTEN CAMPAIGN- WEEK 4 - Lenten Family Fast & Prayer on 2nd & 3rd April 2011 We pray that the parishioners benefited from the guidance given by way of Family prayer cards and the encouragement to observe prayer and fast during the Lenten Season. FAMILY PRAYER O God of goodness and mercy, to your fatherly guidance we commend our family, our home and all our belongings. You are where our heart is, our treasure beyond compare holding our family together and answering our earnest prayer. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. Amen.

LENTEN CAMPAIGN- WEEK 5 - GOTONG - ROYONG 2011 @ ESPLANADE, PENANG on 10th April,2011 • Attended by:70 Parishioners • including children, adults, • the elderly ,Migrant workers, Members of Penang Diocese Families, parents & children worked alongside to create an awareness on keeping the environment clean. • We record our thanks to each and every one who responded to the call. • Outcome: • City Parish is now officially registered with State Govt. • and will be included in any State level cleaning projects organized by the Heritage Group of Penang. • MPPP (Mr. Arul) commented that this was one group that earnestly cleaned the area. • Many realized and appreciated the hard work put in by the MPPP workers in maintaining a clean environment and pledged not to litter. • Fr. Dominic said that it could have been better organized • with better manpower management. “Lord God almighty, bless this land. May health, chastity, conquest of sin, virtue, humility, goodness, and meekness flourish here. May the law be observed in its fullness, and thanks be given to God the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. And may this blessing always remain on this land and on those who live in it, now and for ever and ever. Amen. ”

  9. Evaluation:1. Lack of volunteers. 2. Date unsuitable. VENUE: Church of St. John Britto DATE: April 17,2011 (Palm Sunday) TIME: 9.00AM To 1.00PM BLOOD DONORS – 32 ORGAN DONORS - 7 We thank the Medical Team of General Hospital Penang for their assistance. TO ALL DONORS - Thank You & God Bless !

  10. CONCLUSION We thank each and everyone for their support, participation and prayers during this season of Lent. We also are grateful to our Priests who were with us in this time to guide and direct us , making this Lenten season a meaningful and prayerful experience. We pray that what has been set in motion through these Lenten Activities will continue to grow in our hearts, families and communities in the various ways:- Lenten Tree – Giving to the Needy Lenten Cross – Nailing of our sins Family Prayer – Continue in our Homes Migrant Mass – Care of Foreigners in our land Gotong-Royong- Remembering to care for our environment Blood & Organ Donation- Saving of lives FROM: Fr.
