Air National Guard is the third busiest MAJCOM in terms of aircraft controlled by air traffic controllers. 901,413 aircraft operations in FY03 Air National Guard operates air traffic control (ATC) and maintains ATC equipment at: 33 locations around the country (ATC/ATCALS) 33 air traffic control facilities 22 Control Towers 11 Radar facilities (2 additional radars will open next year) 11 Instrument Landing System (ILS) Sites 11 TACAN Sites 2 VORTACS 2 NDBs 3 Mobile Microwave Landing System (MMLS) sites Facts & Figures
