Overview of Program

  • Collaborative job-readiness program between YouthWorks and JF&CS began October 2010

  • Target population is at-risk youth between the ages of 18 to 24 who have or will age out of foster care

  • Funded by:

    United Way

    United Jewish Federation

    Jewish Women’s Foundation

    Anonymous Foundation

    Private Donors

Current outcomes

Current Outcomes

  • As of March 2012, 151 young adults participated in mandatory job-readiness training

  • 96% successful completion rate

  • 50% have been placed in jobs

  • 52% received high school diplomas or GED’s, or are currently attending GED classes

  • 28% are currently attending post-secondary education

  • 2% have received degrees
