  1. Duxbury High School Scholarship Process Class of 2014

  2. How does it Work? • Complete the general application on Naviance • Some scholarships have separate applications • To be considered for need based scholarships you must submit the SAR of the FAFSA • Adhering to all deadlines is crucial! • Don’t just assume you won’t get something

  3. Part 1 of general application • In Naviance – log on and go to “about me” section. Survey will be on the left side • Make sure to fill in ALL fields • No laundry list of activities • Special circumstances • Be sure to include a major or area of interest • DUE DATE!!!!!

  4. Part 2 of General Application • Must list a school by due date • Must submit a financial aid award letter from college if applicable • FAFSA sheet due • What to do if college is still unknown? • DUE DATE!!!!

  5. Separate Applications • Will be listed in Naviance • Pay attention to due dates • Must be sent back directly to organization awarding scholarship • Must meet the criteria listed • Worth the work

  6. Important Notes • See us with any questions • Don’t take yourself out of the mix by not completing applications or by missing deadlines • Be sure to list a major or area of interest – one of main sort criteria • Be sure that your Naviance email is correct • Time management so that it is not a stressful process

Dates and Deadlines • General application is available on Naviance • Part 1 is due by Friday, March 28, 2014 • Part 2 is due with FAFSA SAR if applicable by Thursday, April 17, 2014 • Most outside applications are available in lateFebruary and due by mid April – dates will be listed in Naviance • Senior Awards Night will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2014at 7pm in the Performing Arts Center
