This guide provides an overview of various tissue types essential for understanding histology and anatomy. Key focus is on epithelial tissues, including simple squamous, cuboidal, columnar, stratified squamous, pseudostratified ciliated, and transitional epithelia. It also highlights different connective tissues: adipose, areolar, reticular, dense regular, and irregular. Additionally, it clarifies the terminology around embryonic cells and outlines the significance of fibrocartilage, hyaline cartilage, osseous tissue, and blood as connective tissue. Essential for lab preparation and study.

Simple squamous- it’s 1 layer and flat…so getting a great slide is difficult!
Stratified squamous The use of the word “embryonic” just means newer cells. They are not necessarily stem cells nor are they in an embryo
Dense regular & irregular connective I know the lab doesn’t differentiate between the 2 but you should know both
blood I know the lab doesn’t mention it but you should know blood is considered a connective tissue.
