  3. What Can History Tell You? • History is the story of the past. • It teaches us about where we came from. • History is all around us. • Buildings • Photos • Grandparents • We are making history. • What we do today is tomorrow’s history. • Hairstyles, sports, music, cars….

How Do We Learn About History? • Historians are people who study what has happened in the past. • Historians use many different sources to determine what happened in the past. • Two types of sources are primary and secondary. • Historians are like detectives trying to figure out what life was like long ago and primary and secondary sources provide the evidence needed.

  5. Primary Source? What is that? Ideas? Primary Source- materials that were created during the time under study.
