Purpose of the Institutional Performance Program The purpose of the Institutional Performance Program is to guide and support our member institutions, as we model, manage and report vital and significant data. The data must be timely, accurate, accessible, stable and secure. This data is used to assist in the planning and decision-making for Division I institutions. The program will enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the intercollegiate athletics program to promote the safety, health and well-being of student athletes.

  4. Principles of the Institutional Performance Program Principles of IPP: • Vision. • Integrity. • Collaboration. • Shared understanding. • Inclusion.

Institutional Performance Program IPP Data Management System Scenario: • A football team is subject to NCAA Division I Academic Performance Program (APP) penalties. • The athletics director needs to know why. • The institution needs to build a waiver case requesting relief from the APP penalties. • The athletics director asks the football sport administrator to lead a group of staff in completing these two tasks.
