  1. MULTICAST ROUTING IN WIRELESS MESH NETWOKS Tree Based Multicasting Mesh Based Multicasting A source based multicasting protocol establishes and maintains one or many multicast routing trees to deliver data packets from sources to the multicast group. It builds and maintains a multicast tree based on hard state i.e. the protocol has to keep track and react to any changes in the tree. Protocol Simulated: Adaptive Demand-Driven Multicast Routing Protocol (ADMR) A mesh based multicasting protocol maintains a forwarding mesh for each multicast group. A member pair forwards multicast data on shortest path between them. This mesh is maintained on soft state i.e. When a node wishes to leave the group it simply stops sending packets, no explicit control message is required to leave. Protocol Simulated: On Demand Multicast Routing Protocol (ODMRP) Wireless Mesh Network Architecture
