  5. Assessment Assignment 2 • Group Project • Collaboration with other (technical) modules • A Powerpoint poster, Presentation & Demonstration • Reflection on group process • Facilitated Peer Assessment

  6. Mentoring Scheme • “E” mentoring • Students currently on placement paired with 2nd year students • Part of assessment for both groups of students • Guidelines required • Contingency arrangements required

  7. Assessment Centres • “off site” • Employers, careers service, placement officer, student liaison officer, other staff • Group exercise, interview, immediate feedback • “Real Experience”

  8. Facilitated Peer Assessment • Face to face group meeting • All members of group REQUIRED to attend • If a member is not present they have no opportunity to dispute the outcome • Mark calculated from other group marks • Students decide ~ staff facilitate, but do not intervene

  9. Results • 2007 91.3% (42 of 46) found placement • 2008 90.7% (39 of 43) found placement • 2009 60.0% (39 of 66) found placements • Problem finding games programming placement opportunities.
